Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Redondo Beach Concrete Company website, from our home page through every service and city page, and the estimates and work we provide. By using the site or booking work with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
When we take on a job for you, the written estimate or contract for that job sets the scope, price and schedule. If that document says something different from these terms, the signed document controls for that job.
What we do
Redondo Beach Concrete Company is a concrete contractor in Redondo Beach, CA, and we work in Redondo Beach and the cities around it. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, slabs, footings, retaining walls and other flatwork, the flat concrete around a house, along with foundation work and concrete cutting. You can read more about our crew on the About page.
The descriptions, photos and general information on this site explain the trade and how we usually work. They aren't a promise that your job will look or perform a certain way, because every property's soil, drainage and access are different.
Estimates and pricing
We give free estimates at your property, and you're under no obligation to hire us. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure that day, including the size of the area, the slab thickness, the finish you choose, how easy it is to get equipment in and how much old concrete has to come out.
Some things only show up once the old concrete is out, such as soft or wet subgrade, which is the soil the slab sits on, along with buried roots, old footings or pipes. If we find something that changes the work, we'll stop, show you and agree on any added cost with you in writing before we go on.
Prices on an estimate hold for the period stated on it. After that, material costs can change, so we may need to update the figure.
If your city requires a permit for the work, your estimate or contract will say how the permit is handled. Permit fees and inspection timing are set by the city, not by us.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We schedule pours around the weather and concrete delivery, because concrete placed in rain or in the worst of the midday heat can end up with a weak, dusty top. If conditions aren't right on your date, we'll move it and tell you as soon as we know.
Curing, the wait while new concrete hardens and gains strength, is part of every job. We'll tell you when you can walk on the new slab and when you can drive on it, and keeping people, pets and vehicles off it until then is your responsibility once we've left.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us at (424) 402-3940 as early as you can. If materials were already ordered or delivered for your job, the cancellation terms in your contract decide what's owed.
Payment
Payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are written in your estimate or contract. Unless it says otherwise, the remaining balance is due when the work is complete.
If a payment is late, we may pause further work until it's settled, and any late fees will be only those stated in your contract.
Your part of the job
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to tell us about anything buried that we can't see, like sprinkler lines, private gas or electric lines, drains or septic parts. We aren't responsible for damage to buried items that weren't disclosed or marked.
Please move vehicles, furniture and planters out of the work area before we arrive, so we can start on time and nothing gets in the way of the pour.
Cracks and warranty disclaimer
All concrete can crack. We cut control joints, grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, so cracks usually stay in straight lines instead of wandering across the surface. Hairline cracks, slight color differences and minor surface variation are normal and aren't defects.
Any warranty on our workmanship is the one written in your contract. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we make no other warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. This website and its content are provided as is.
We aren't responsible for damage caused by things outside our work, such as soil movement, tree roots, drainage changes made after we finish, loads heavier than the slab was built for or use before curing is done.
Limitation of liability
To the extent California law allows, our total liability for any claim connected with a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of your property or lost income.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
Settling disagreements
If something isn't right, call us first. Most problems get settled when we come back out and look at the concrete with you.
If we can't settle it that way, both sides agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court, unless your contract says otherwise. Any lawsuit will be brought in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
Governing law
These terms, your use of this site and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on this page when you use the site or sign a contract with us is the one that applies, and later changes don't alter a contract you've already signed.
Questions about these terms
If anything here is unclear, call us at (424) 402-3940 or send a note through our Contact page, and we'll explain it before you sign anything.
